For the Belgo’s 2026 Cultural Winter Opening, I am pleased to present the exhibition Embarquement immédiat (Now Boarding) by photographer Annie Lapointe, as guest artist!
Annie Lapointe seeks to capture familiar places in a unique way, emphasizing or focusing on a particular element of a setting or environment from an angle she finds interesting. Whether it's a detail of a room, a spontaneous snapshot of a scene from everyday life, Annie explores the aesthetic of an object or a moment captured in daily existence.
It is especially during her travels that she allows herself to be carried away by the atmosphere of the moment, immortalizing points of interest in places where she is enjoying herself.
While waiting for flights, on a layover in the long airport corridors, Annie Lapointe captures common elements to bring out a particular angle and give them a more abstract representation.

About the Artist
Born in 1980, Annie Lapointe is an emerging self-taught photographer from Arvida in Saguenay, living in Montreal since 2004. She studied and works in the field of engineering.
Annie has developed a passion for photography and seeks to capture the present moment through a shot, a presentation bringing out a particular, even unusual, angle to an environment, a setting.
Depending on where her travels take her, Annie Lapointe rediscovers common places by giving them a personal touch.
