OPENING — Thursday, September 11 2025, 5pm to 10pm

For the Belgo’s Fall 2025 Cultural Opening Event, I am pleased to invite you on Thursday, September 11th, starting at 5 pm, to my studio-gallery for the opening of my new exhibition titled "Spill the Tea! — The Creative Misadventures of a Painter", where I will be presenting around thirty new works, laid out Salon-style.

These paintings will be accompanied by little anecdotes, gossip in which I will share my secrets—not how to construct this unique texture, which I jealously guard for myself!—but rather stories about unforeseen events encountered throughout the creation of this new series, recounted in a humorous way, such as a painting knife that breaks at the wrong moment, a freshly finished piece that dropped onto my paint palette and was improved as a result, or a sagging panel that ultimately enhances the work. Perhaps Bob Ross was right: "We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents."

These anecdotes will be scattered throughout the gallery walls, like a trail or a gossip treasure hunt.

About The Latest Artworks

The smaller paintings, about twenty in 2 x 3.5-inch format, are mounted in various Victorian-style frames with black velvet backgrounds; a few others, larger in size, are presented in Baroque-style frames with ornate gold leaf moldings.

These miniature works invite us to pay closer attention to them, to enter their world and reveal their secrets, which makes us appreciate them even more—unlike the larger works, where we must step back.

The complexity added by the texture, a finely hatched vertical grid vaguely reminiscent of lenticular prints, offers a completely different perspective on these works; a filter of complexity coming from the artist's experience, placed over this pictorial representation, where we glimpse the artist's emotional perception of these landscapes; how he perceives them, and how he tries to convey them through his own experience; like seeing a painting with tinted glasses, but tinted with emotions—those of the artist.

The opening will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5 pm to 10 pm, as part of Belgo’s Fall 2025 Cultural Opening Event, where some twenty art galleries and artist-run centres will open their doors for an evening of openings to unveil and present their new exhibitions.
